He is responsible for systems and networking in a multi-site infrastructure with 3000+ users. Henok designed a virtualized server environment to reduce cost and provide a disaster recovery solution at a fraction of the cost initially anticipated by management. The key to his high efficiency is his commitment to thorough communication with end users, diligent planning and his unique ability to prioritize the execution of the different elements for each strategy. His emphasis on ongoing documentation and root cause analysis has transformed the culture of the IT team that he works with.
Henok asks stimulating, powerful questions about potential processes and solutions.  He thoroughly researches issues, teaches, and educates others, rather than just applying quick fixes.  He negotiates with vendors, works hard going above and beyond expectations and performs his work with excellence, dedication, and grace.  He is professional, knowledgeable, and thorough when dealing with outside agencies and vendors.
As a volunteer, Henok built the network and computer infrastructure for the New Life Community Health Center. He led the medical staff through an assessment of their Electronic Health Record (EHR) system needs and the process of evaluating several EHR systems to identify the correct fit. He has created an email and cloud based electronic file system for the health center, provides training for volunteers and is a valuable resource for the entire staff.
Henok was born in Ethiopia, immigrated to the United States as a teenager and speaks Amharic and English.  He works with a multi-ethnic staff at Nyack including Hispanics, Filipinos, and Koreans.
Henok is a member of the following professional associations: International Association of Software Architects, Harvard Business School Club of NY, BPM Professionals Group, and the Association for Computing Machinery. In recognition of his commitment to Academic Excellence, Global Engagement, Intentional Diversity, Personal Transformation and Social Relevance, Henok Ephraim was awarded Nyack College's 2016 Staff Commitment to Mission Award.
