Annual Flu Vaccines provided by St. John's School of Pharmacy
October 6, 2018     .     10:00 am - 1:00 pm

NLCHC will once again provide its fall Free Flu Shot program in conjunction with St. John's School of Pharmacy beginning in September.

If you've never gotten a flu shot yet, here are some important reminders about flu shots, from the New York State Department of Health:

* All people 6 months and older are recommended to receive an influenza vaccination each year.

* Children aged 6 months through 8 years of age who have never received a seasonal flu vaccine need to get two doses of vaccine spaced at least 4 weeks apart.

* Certain people are at "high risk" of serious complications from seasonal influenza. These include people 65 years and older, children younger than five years old, pregnant women, and people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions.

* The best time to get vaccinated is as soon as the vaccine is available. You can still get a flu shot through the fall, winter or spring, since flu season usually peaks in February but continues through May.

Free flu vaccines are limited, so please stop in and see us if you need a free flu shot. Once the inventory is gone we will discontinue the sessions so plan on coming in to one of the earlier dates to insure you receive a vaccine.
