"Baby, It's Cold Outside!"

By John Peck |  January 21, 2017

That popular song from the movie, "Elf", and from an earlier-era Dean Martin reminds us of a truth during the holiday season: People need to stay warm and properly dressed to avoid hypothermia and frostbite.

Our medical clinic is very fortunate to have a clothing partner this holiday season to help us keep many of our needy people warm. The Eros Hosiery Company, which makes various kinds of clothing items such as socks, gloves, winter caps, boots, and other apparel, chose the New Life Community Health Center as the chosen recipient in a recent non-profit giveaway of Eros coats.

We've done a lot of business with Eros in the past by purchasing socks, gloves and other items directly for the winter months. Then not too long ago, we learned that Eros was conducting a nomination process to receive at least $300 of items for those helping serve in non-profit capacities like our clinic. NLCHC was chosen from among 130 nominations to be its selected recipient. Eros will also give recognition of the clinic in an upcoming web blog, and what's really noteworthy is that our recognition goes out to a list of over 16,000 subscribers of theirs, as well as being shared on social media channels. That gives us a large potential audience of people who may have interest in helping nonprofits like ours.

We're really grateful for Eros' recognition of our efforts to help take care of our transient and needy populations and bring a hands-on warm touch to folks who need it...Thank you, Eros!

And folks, keep your 'baby' warm...it's cold outside!
